Find a TV Stand That Fits

I have seen it all too often. You go to the store, you find a beautiful entertainment center or TV stand. You bring it home only to find that you really have no where to put it. You are unable to make your other furniture work right within your house. Or, you bought some brand new furniture and that left no more room for you large entertainment center. Being an architectural drafter, I find myself thinking of these types of things frequently, but do not think you are a minority if you are in this position!

One of the first things I did when I purchased my house is I walked through the living room picturing where I could potentially place the furniture I had. However, I am not saying that is a special talent, but not everyone has this ability or even allows that to cross their mind.

Finding a TV stand that works well in the room with your furniture is important. Luckily, there are some pretty creative and stylish solutions out there. Corner stands are becoming more and more popular. I have seen them used eloquently in smaller rooms to give the furniture more breathing room or to be able to spread it out a bit.

Are you asking yourself, “What if I don’t have any room at all?” Do not worry, this is a good time to perhaps use a wall mounted TV stand. Doing this, you can set the TV up a little bit higher in the room so that you have more space available to place your furniture. Although you will still have the potential of a tall guy like myself bumping his head on the TV if you place a couch directly underneath it, it works great for chairs that are rarely used and would only need to be used when you have company. There is certainly no reason to just throw out one of your pieces to your brand new furniture suite over a lack of space.

On occasion you will see a lucky person who just has too much room. Their tiny little pedestal TV stand on a twenty foot long wall just makes the place look bland. There are some great TV stands or entertainment centers that will span out in width and not have to go up in height. Many include storage compartments for DVD’s and DVD players. These are great to help fill a room that seems to be too spacious. Another good option to fill blank areas is pictures and could potentially be a cheaper option.

All in all, you should simply try to find a TV stand that fits your room! Do not try to make one fit, but keep in mind your other furniture when making a decision. If you do not, your wife could end up very upset!
